Riding out the pandemic in Chicago has made me miss some of Michigan’s charms in a big way. So when I was approached by a family member to help advertise their rustic log cabin rentals in northern Michgan, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to virtually travel back home. The two compositions — Day and Dusk — have modularity built into their designs so the cozy cabin interior can be showcased alongside the hero image of the Au Sable River.

The typeface used in the Dusk composition is Midwest Sans designed by Emily Johnson. Fittingly, this typeface family was created as a tribute to Michigan’s many moods (I used the “Humidity” weight!). Read more about her project here. The Day composition uses Syne designed by Lucas Descroix and Bonjour Monde.
